Romei Group continues to invest in safety and innovation by participating in the initiative “Strengthening Skills for Industrial, Digital, and Green Transition,<\/strong><\/a>” promoted by the Emilia-Romagna region. This project, carried out in collaboration with the Digital Twins course at the University of Oxford and with the support of local experts, aims to train employees in safety, optimize company management, as well management of construction sites and infrastructure maintenance. <\/p>\n

A Project that Invests in People, Safety, and Innovation<\/h2>\n

Optimization and risk reduction are the main objectives of the new research and development projects where which we will explore the use of new technologies in the fields of safety training for workers exposed to high risk and company and construction site management.<\/p>\n

Among the key technologies we are exploring for new applications in our sector are:<\/p>\n

  • Virtual Reality (VR):<\/strong> This technology allows the development of immersive simulations where the user interacts with a digital environment that emulates real behaviors.<\/li>\n
  • Digital Twins:<\/strong> Designed for the development of cyber-physical models and complex systems, they provide a virtual and dynamic counterpart of the physical world that allows real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, performance forecasting, improved decision-making, and optimization of complex processes.<\/li>\n
  • Generative AI: <\/strong>A branch of artificial intelligence that uses advanced algorithms, such as neural networks, to generate new content\u2014such as text, images, audio, or video\u2014similar to those created by humans. Starting from existing data, generative AI learns to recognize complex patterns and subsequently create new ones, enabling the production of realistic responses, images, or simulations based on specific inputs. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Safety Against Electrical Risk and Falls from Heights<\/h3>\n

    The first case study we are analyzing concerns electrical risk and the risk of falling from heights during overhead interventions at a height on power lines\u2014operations that require expert and highly qualified personnel.<\/p>\n

    Thanks to the aforementioned technologies, we can simulate hazardous scenarios in a controlled environment, allowing our employees to firsthand test protection and prevention procedures. This is just one of the numerous opportunities that new technologies offer in the construction and infrastructure sector, which we will explore over the coming months. <\/p>\n
